Primary Liaison

At Welland Park Academy, we are proud to work in close partnership with our local primary schools to create a strong, supportive, and inspiring community of learners.

Mrs Caroline Towers, our Primary Liaison and Community Lead, plays a key role in strengthening these connections. She coordinates a wide range of engaging events and activities throughout the year, designed to celebrate learning, foster creativity, and ease the transition from primary to secondary school.

Working closely with staff and pupils from our partner schools, these events help to build confidence, enthusiasm, and a sense of belonging long before pupils officially join us at Welland Park Academy.

Our 2025–26 programme includes:

  • Primary Maths Challenge (Years 5 & 6) – Tuesday 11th & Tuesday 18th November – Led by Emma Aslett
  • Christmas Poem Competition (Year 4) – Led by Jade Bonner
  • Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Performance (Year 5) – Morning performance on Tuesday 27th January – Led by Caroline Towers
  • STEM Competition (Year 4) – March 2026 – Led by Sammy Hallybone
  • Primary Music Day (Years 5 & 6) – Friday 24th April 2026 – Led by Caroline Towers
  • PE Marshalling and Coaching Support (Various Year Groups) – Ongoing opportunities in table tennis, dodgeball, football, athletics, and tennis – Led by Jason Button (venues include Welland Park Academy and local primary schools)
  • Year 5 Days – June 2026 – Led by Caroline Towers

Together, these experiences strengthen the bonds between our schools, celebrate the talents of young learners, and highlight the shared commitment across our community to ensuring every child thrives.
