Catering

The Catering Department

Welcome to the Welland Park Academy Dining Hall.

Our catering operation offers something for everyone from a break snack for that mid-morning boost to our varied lunchtime offer of up to seven options, including traditional hot meals, the very best in snack foods, sandwiches, salads and paninis.

How to Pay for Food

Meal payments are made through our cashless system which offers both a worry free service for our parents and a quick, efficient transaction through our tills. Parents/carers can top up through ParentPay or the students can use cash in the top up machines in the Dining Hall.

Remember that you can monitor your account balance and your child's school meal history by logging onto your Parent Pay account via the link below.

ParentPay

Replacement Catering Card

All students are given a lunch card on their first day at Welland Park Academy. However, if this is lost or damaged a replacement card will incur a £2.00 charge. Replacement cards are ordered on ParentPay and issued by the Finance Office.

Free School Meals

If your child is entitled to Free School Meals, they will have a £3.65 daily allowance to spend at break or lunchtime for food/drinks.

Insufficient Funds on Lunch Card

Whilst we our best to discourage the use of overdrafts, our students’ wellbeing is our priority. Please ensure your child’s account is in credit and topped up regularly.

The default daily spend is set at £7.50, if you would like this to be changed, please contact Mrs Parker by email (parkers@wellandparkacademy.com) or the Finance Office, financeoffice@wellandparkacademy.com.

You will be notified by email each week if your account is overdrawn.

Allergens/Dietary Requirements

At Welland Park Academy, we are committed to meeting the dietary, medical, cultural and religious needs of all students. Parents and carers are asked to inform the school of any allergies, intolerances or special dietary requirements so that appropriate arrangements can be made by our catering team.

We follow current food allergen legislation, including Natasha’s Law, which requires clear allergen labelling on pre-packed foods made on site. We also support the principles of Benedict’s Law, promoting greater awareness and safety for children and young people with allergies. While every effort is made to accommodate dietary needs and minimise the risk of allergen exposure, students with severe allergies should ensure the school has up to date medical information and care plans in place.

If you would like to discuss your child's dietary requirements, please contact the school office or our catering team before they start using the dining facilities.

Meal Deal’s

We encourage students to enjoy our 'Meal Deal' at £3.65 with a hot meal together with either a hot pudding/home bake/fruit/jelly or a large water.

Grab Bag’s

If your child needs to pre-order food from the Dining Hall, we offer ‘Grab Bag’s’.

-       A Grab Bag form needs to be completed which are displayed in the Dining Hall and handed in to one of the catering staff at break time, ready for collection at the beginning of lunch.

-       £3.65 – this includes a sandwich, biscuit, fruit, either a small water, aqua or juice carton.
